Secure, Value-Add Partnerships that are Now Possible Thanks to Modern SaaS Platforms
Where: W6428 Connect Experiential Zone in the West Hall
When: Sunday, April 24, 1–1:30 p.m.
What: Partnerships have always played a vital role in the broadcast media value chain. With the dawn of cloud platforms, partner relationships have become more critical that ever – because the right partners, integrated at the right touchpoints, can add value far beyond what’s possible via on-premises deployments. We call this type of value-added equation, 1+1=3. Verimatrix is currently partnering with encoders, players, middleware vendors, content delivery networks (CDNs) and big data specialists who are able to connect their services to the Verimatrix Secure Delivery Platform to accelerate continuous value delivery for our media rights owner and video operator customers. One such partner, MUSO, will explain how they are connecting their services to Verimatrix Streamkeeper to offer the market bold new ways to hunt down and take out industrial-scale piracy.
Who: Sebastian Braun, senior product manager, Verimatrix; and Christopher Elkins, co-founder, MUSO

Threat Defense for Media & Entertainment: How to Close the Open Door in Security Walls to Prevent the Enterprise from Being Compromised
Where: W3122 Intelligent Content Inspiration Zone in the West Hall
When: Monday, April 25, 2:30–3 p.m.
What: Today’s security-conscious media & entertainment organizations spend millions of dollars each year on enterprise cybersecurity. In fact, they’ve built a big, beautiful security wall. But what if we told you the most companies have a hole in that wall — via the apps and APIs that are connected to it? You might wonder why anyone would spend money on this wall of defense that has a wide-open door in it — allowing bad actors to walk right in. Verimatrix XTD (Extended Threat Defense) is a new SaaS solution that closes this open door in enterprise security walls and monitors all mobile apps connected to your cloud services, ensuring they can’t be weaponized against you. Learn what media powerhouses have to say about combatting today’s modern media cyberthreats.

The State of Piracy Today and the New Battlefront Against Industrial Scale Content Theft
Where: W3122 Intelligent Content Innovation Zone in the West Hall
When: Tuesday, April 26, 11:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
What: With digital content piracy reaching industrial scale both in size and economic impact, traditional ‘blunt’ countermeasures have less and less impact, and they risk annoying paying consumers as much as pirates. New data-driven approaches that utilize breakthroughs in cybersecurity can quickly target the riskiest behaviors with surgical precision: cutting off criminals while improving the user experience for everyone else. In this session, we will discuss how the financial benefits of content security are becoming easier to quantify and justify by linking investment directly to outcomes; specifically, investment in data insights and amazing new anti-piracy technologies that are just now coming to market.
