NAB Show Amplified: 5 Minutes with LG Electronics

Amplify editor Emily M. Reigart interviews Nandhu Nandhakumar about LG Electronics’ plans for the 2022 NAB Show.

Nandhakumar, who serves as senior vice president in the office of the CTO at LG, previews some of the new products, technologies, customers and partners LG will be showcasing at its NAB Show booth this year and shares some business and technology trends he’s identified within the industry.

The 2022 NAB Show will take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center April 23–27.

LG Electronics will be in Booth C2631 (Central Hall) during NAB Show.

About Nandhu Nandhakumar
Nandhu Nandhakumar, Ph.D., currently serves as Senior Vice President in the office of the CTO of LG Electronics Inc. He currently leads initiatives focused on next generation media and display technologies. He led the team that was responsible for LGE’s Technology and Engineering Emmy Award for OLED Reference Monitors. Nandhakumar has also led partnerships and corporate venture capital investments in a broad range of technologies that are of long-term strategic interest to LG Electronics. He is active in technology standards development and currently serves as Founding Board Member and President of the Ultra HD Forum, and Vice Chair of CTA’s Technology Council.

Earlier, he served on the faculties of the University of Texas, Austin, and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.  He has authored more than 100 refereed journal and conference publications and holds several issued patents in in the areas of digital media, computer vision, robotics, and machine intelligence.

Nandhakumar has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UT Austin, a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a B.E (Hons) degree in electronics and communications engineering from the University of Madras, India.
