Digital Nirvana’s Metadator is a secure, scalable software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that automates the process of metadata generation for production, pre-production and live content. At NAB Show 2020, Digital Nirvana will showcase Metadator’s off-the-shelf integration with Avid Interplay for the creation of automatic transcripts, labels for objects, faces, logos, and other metadata with locators for Avid users. The application, integrated with video intelligence, is also capable of on-screen text recognition, shot-change detection, and explicit content detection.
Metadator automates the entire process of metadata generation including transferring video data, creating low-res proxies, generating respective metadata along with markers, and ingesting it back into Avid, making the assets easily locatable. Automatically generated locators help editors search and identify content effortlessly within Avid and create content faster. Because Metadator enables users to maintain consistent metadata, it ensures relevant assets from archive or pre-production footage gets identified more efficiently and in turn facilitates faster production of content.

Simplify and automate metadata generation with a secure and scalable solution.
MetadatorIQ is designed to automate the end-to-end process of generating transcription and video-based metadata for Avid-based assets. It generates automatic locators that are customizable based on duration and color. They are ingested into Avid Interplay, helping users search and retrieve content effortlessly within Avid. ML-based Automatic Metadata – The application is designed to generate speech and video-based metadata; automatic transcripts of speech content, logo detection, face recognition, object identification, and shot-change identification.
Seamless Solution –
MetadatorIQ can be installed on either a dedicated server or a virtual machine on the client facility for security purposes. The application automatically extracts the original asset and creates a low-res proxy or audio-only version of the actual media file from the Avid watch folder. The asset is securely transferred to the cloud for the automatic generation of metadata. Upon process completion, the metadata is returned to the on-premise application, which ingests the metadata back into Avid Interplay as locators.
The low-res proxy files transcoded on-premise are transferred to the cloud, where they are temporarily stored in encrypted storage only as long as they are required to process the job and then erased. Processed metadata is delivered back to MetadatorIQ, which resides in the client’s system.Learn more
