Season 6 of British police procedural Line of Duty started and stopped production within four weeks of rolling in March. Pictured is Kelly Macdonald, courtesy of BBC/World Pictures

Cinematographer Tim Palmer was shooting the sixth series of Line of Duty for the BBC when the first lockdown happened last year. The show was one of the first UK productions to come back with all new COVID-19 restrictions attached.

Here, he explains how shooting was possible within the new rules and how compliance actually gave him and his crew more confidence the more they shot.

#LineofDuty6 @worldprods @BBCOne That's a wrap! Our last day of filming completed a few hours ago. 82 days of shooting with the CoViD shutdown in between, but we made it, thanks to our brilliant cast and crew. And thanks to our loyal fans for your exceptional patience. pic.twitter.com/BgijiE9kny

We also talked with Tim while he was in Hungary shooting the new season of The Last Kingdom and he describes the necessary and comprehensive organization that is going into that huge Netflix series to keep people safe and schedules intact.
