Reimagining the “Game of Thrones” Clan as the Equally Dysfunctional Bluths in “Arrested Development”

In case you’ve forgotten, Game of Thrones was a really excellent television show. (Especially now that most of us have had time to recover from the agony that was the final season. RIP merciless plot twists and clever stratagems.)

If you need a reminder why this series is credited with ushering in the era of prestige television – or if you’re just belatedly celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the show’s debut (April 17, 2011) – I have just the video for you.

But before you click play, know that Thrones won’t be quite what you remember. That’s because this season-one summary was created in the style of Mitchell Hurwitz, creator of the Bluth family and the idea that there’s always money in the banana stand.

The video maker and “Arrested Development” fan who created this delightful mashup describes GoT as “the story of a wealthy family that lost everything, because the head of the family couldn’t keep his mouth shut. It’s a Game of Thrones.” Sounds about right, actually.

Watch the video now, and let us know if you think the whole series (or just the final season) should be redone with this approach.
