Simon Crownshaw is Global Director of Business Strategy, Media and Entertainment Industry at Microsoft. In this role, he oversees the global strategy for the industry team and manages the overall strategic direction for Microsoft. He provides leadership and direction to teams across studios, broadcasting, sports and live events and the solutions that power those focus areas. In addition to supporting the hundreds of global customers and helping them harness the power of Microsoft to enable media workflows, he is focused on media cloud adoption and the critical data and AI elements that will enable people and processes.
Ken DeGennaro is the Senior Vice President of Media Operations and Technology for NBA Entertainment. DeGennaro oversees the league’s broadcast operations, engineering, player tracking and stats, and OTT technology departments, and is also responsible for the global delivery of video and statistics via satellite, fiber, broadband and mobile. He manages the development and implementation of NBA Cloud Services, including significant AI and ML executions supporting both business and basketball analytics alike. DeGennaro was instrumental in the successful launch of NBA.com/Stats, the official NBA statistical destination powered by the SAP HANA® real-time platform in February 2013. The multi-award-winning site provides the league, teams, media and fans with access to the NBA’s entire official history of statistics – more than 4.5 quadrillion combinations of statistics – including every box score in history.
