An important first step to selecting an antenna is learning what signals can be received at a location. Antennaweb.org is a free, simple way for consumers to enter their home address and receive a summary of which antenna types are a best fit for the type of programming they enjoy.  AntennaWeb is available from desktop and mobile interfaces.

AntennaWeb’s patented process can tell consumers exactly how strong an antenna is needed to pick up available signals based on an address. Our signal area analysis will help to choose an HDTV antenna based on factors such as distances to transmitters and local topography. Developed jointly with the Consumer Technology Association and the National Association of Broadcasters, a color-coded labeling standard classifies antennas by type. Antennas labeled for a particular type will share common reception capabilities and directional qualities, regardless of manufacturer. AntennaWeb produces a color-coded chart that matches this color rating scheme for antennas, making antenna selection easier.
